Bloodstock Insurance provides indemnity to the owner in the event of the horse's death due to illness, accident or, in certain circumstances, humane euthanasia on veterinary grounds.

Bloodstock Insurance provides financial indemnity in the event of the horse's death.
Equine Health Insurance covers veterinary expenses while the horse is alive.

Acceptance age is generally between 6 months and 14 years. Beyond 14 years, each case is assessed individually.

A veterinary examination may be required before the policy is accepted. Horses with pre-existing medical conditions or injuries may be subject to exclusions.

The sum insured is agreed between the Policyholder and the Insurer at the beginning of the policy and remains unchanged throughout the policy year.

No. Once the veterinary questionnaire has been completed, accepted by the Insurer and the premium has been paid, there is no waiting period.

The policy covers transport and temporary stays throughout Europe. Cover outside Europe is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Yes. Competition use is covered, provided it has been declared and accepted by the Insurer.

Yes. Humane euthanasia is covered when performed on veterinary grounds and in accordance with the terms of the policy.

Notify Frontside Seguros and the Insurer immediately and submit a claim notification.

Yes. In the event of surgery, the policy operates on a reimbursement basis.

The Policyholder must:

• Notify the Insurer immediately;
• Submit the veterinary post-mortem report and any other required documentation;
• Where requested, allow a veterinary inspection or post-mortem examination.

Once the claim has been validated, the indemnity will be paid in accordance with the policy.

A completed insurance proposal form, the veterinary questionnaire and any additional documentation requested by the Insurer.

Yes. A veterinary questionnaire must be completed. Depending on the horse's age, value or characteristics, a veterinary examination may also be required.

The premium depends on:

• The horse's age;
• The horse's intended use;
• The insured value;
• The cover selected.
